Good progress is being made and whilst the search results are showing SEO Essex in shifting positions it often resides as high as position 13 in Google.
This is not a bad start at all, lets remember we are not even a month into the promotion of the website starting with a brand new domain name and shared hosting so rising to position 13 depending on which datacentre you get is a good starting position.
I can now start to push the linking a little more and then towards the end of May I will start graphing the link profile to make sure I do not get too carried away and link spike my domain. In the early stages I will be chasing trust and page rank…. of course I will not be using the Google Toolbar PR indicator I will be measing trust and PR through one of the more reliable SEO tools.
With SEO-Essex being a brand new domain it is vital to chase only links that will pass trust, any poor linking at this point will severely undermine the domain and could set it back for months, even a year in Google.
Hitting the top regions of position 2 is not without its problems, the first indication of good progress is of course spam! Whilst there has only been one tentative enquiry there have been 50 spam emails, thats a sure sign that the domain is getting profile.
I think it will take page 1 before real enquiries start to arrive from Essex businesses and I am hoping to start with just one a week to get the flavour again for SEO at this sharp end of the industry. After years of working at the corporate end going back to my roots will be a fresh and new challenge. Things will need to be more precise, linking, keyword research and content will be far more influential at smaller scales than they are on a huge and powerful corporate site. On a corporate site its easier to build momentum knowing that issues such as low link counts and domain trust are not adverse factors.
I will also start to tuck in some social media work and start getting trust delivered from authoritative social sites.
I would love to hit page one this month….
