Google Listings
Well its interesting to think that this is a brand new domain name and in theory Google will sandbox it and it will be months before I can get listed on the first page of Google.
That is what the industry will tell you if you are a potential client, the sales patter will talk about page rank and sandboxing about how Google will not trust new domains and it will take months of hard work to get listed. Well I am going to put this to the test here, this is a new domain with no history, no Google page rank and no Google listings.
Where to Start?
I will start by adding content and building the theme of the website, all of the competitor websites that are listed for terms such as SEO Essex and search engine optimisation Essex etc have a huge headstart on me. Don’t be fooled into thinking its not a competitive term, with the way Google are localising search results the market is getting crowded now.
Any SEO term is competitive because by nature you are competing against other optimisation agencies for their core business, Google listings are premium because they have such a huge market share.
Problems Already in Google
The first problem has already arisen, unfortunately Google has not indexed my site properly and is just listing a url in search results with no title or description. This is in itself a setback because it is a glitch and could take a couple of weeks to sort itself out, that said my experience tells me that I must concentrate on the basics whilst I wait.
There is no point fretting about it, build the content and start slowly adding the backlinks, gently without kneejerk reaction, this is a crucial point and most SEO companies would already be piling in lots of links, crappy links, this is about quality.
the localised results are important for this project, if I am to offer a service to small businesses in Essex then I need to be in front of them when they search, a company based in Essex will feel most comfortable if they can use a local Essex based SEO agency but one who has a good reputation.

Well I aim to show that I can get this site positioned, that will show everybody I know what I am doing, lets face it if I am nicely sat on page one results in a Google search for Essex based SEO terms then you can be sure I am competent.
